Doohamlet GFC notes

June 29, 2016

Seniors:  Our Seniors travelled  to Truagh on Friday evening last and came away disappointed with a two point defeat.  Despite having numerical advantage and dominating for long spells Doohamlet could no penetrate a resolute home defence and Truagh took their scores when they counter attacked.

At the half way stage of the league Doohamlet have 8 points and must regroup for the reverse fixtures.

Congrats:  To our Community Games Parish team Clontibret on their Ulster success last weekend and especially our Doohamlet players Vinny McManus, Daniel Coleman, Fionnan Markey and Cian McKenna.  Well done to all the boys from Clontibret, Cremartin and Doohamlet and all the management team.

Well Done:  To all who took part in the U8/U10 Blitz hosted in O'Neill Park last week.  With 5 clubs Blackhill, Rockcorry, Clontibret, Latton and Doohamlet, 16 teams and over 150 children involved and all showing their skills.  A lot of work organising these games and huge credit to everyone who helped out in any way with organising this event.

Best Wishes:  To our County Senior footballers who must do it all again after both counties served up a thriller last weekend in Breffni Park.

Blotto:  No Jackpot winner, numbers drawn 1, 4, 5, 7, 2, 6, 3.  Lucky dip winners Ted Duffy, Tonyglasson; Ailbhe King, Tullycarra; Kieran McArdle, Doohamlet MTS; Karen Nugent, Darkley; Abbie Lear, Garradevlin.  Next weeks Jackpot €1,500.
