Last Sunday seen the lowest takings in the lotto since it began, a lot of you know this is our main source of income. This is a very simple way to keep the club running and all we ask is that all players and members make an effort and try and take part in our lotto. All envelopes can be dropped into either of the 2 shops, chip shop or either of the 2 pubs in the village

Seniors

Tonight Monday the 27th we hosted Blackhill in round 8 of the junior league. It was a game which beforehand was expected to be a close affair and that it was.

It was our own lads to start the stronger with Micky Tierney getting off to a flyer to tap over 2 points, 1 from play and another from a free. As the game progressed it was point for point as the away side never let us out of sight. Unfortunately about 5mins before half time the away side won a penalty and got the score board level only for Dermott Gleeson to pop up again to leave us 1 point ahead.

In the 2nd half our lads played their socks off and Blackhill were struggling with Cory Mc Aree making some brilliant runs up the field and got himself a brilliant point for his troubles. It wasn't long till the away side fought back and ended up going ahead by a point but Captain Ronan Cassidy found the back of the net and left a nervy finish but it was the away side to finish that bit stronger and ended up getting a late goal to seal the win.

Final score Eire og 1-13 Blackhill 3-11

A Speedy recovery to Francie McMahon who suffered a nasty head injury this evening.

U12'S

Our U12's played Currin last Saturday. It was very much 1 way traffic as we got on top of the game from the word go with 2 goals from Niall Smyth and another 2 from James Hughes. As always the defence kept the away side and bay for long parts of the game with brilliant work from John McQuaid and another star performer on the day was Ciaran Mullaney who got a goal and a point to his name.

Final score Eire og 7-6 Currin 2-6

This victory leaves us in 2nd place in the league and hopefully push on for a shot at a bit of silverware.
