Three of Monaghan ladies' All Stars have opted out of the county panel for 2016.

Speaking after the Farney women's seven-point defeat to Galway at the weekend, team captain Cora Courtney revealed that Cathriona McConnell, Caoimhe Mohan and goalkeeper Linda Martin have all decided to take a year out from inter-county duty following Donaghmoyne's victorious the All Ireland campaign towards the end of last year.

"There's another three Donaghmoyne ones (who aren't back) because of work commitments. We have doctors, teachers, they just can't give the commitment again," said Courtney.

Monaghan host Dublin in Round Two of the Lidl Ladies National Football League this coming Sunday.
