Fixtures

November 26, 2015

There are no club fixtures in Monaghan this weekend with just one more competition to be completed, the final of the senior football league between Scotstown and Truagh. While there is no action on the domestic scene there are however two very important games for Monaghan clubs in the finals of the Ulster club senior and junior football Championships on Sunday. In the senior club championship Scotstown take on Crossmaglen for a first ever meeting in the senior club final and it is also a first for Rockcorry as they take on Derry Junior champions Faughanvale in the final of the Junior series. The big question mark on the senior championship scene is, can Scotstown do what no other club in Ulster has been able to do and that is defeat Crossmaglen Rangers in the Ulster club final while in the Junior series the question is can Rockcorry emulate the feats of the four Monaghan clubs who have won the Ulster Junior club championship title in recent years, the most recent being Emyvale in 2013. The two games are being played as a double bill in the Athletic Grounds, Armagh on Sunday, the junior final at 1.30pm and the senior decider getting under way at 3.30pm. The final of the senior football league has now been fixed for Friday week December 4th in Emyvale at 8.00p.m.
