Intermediate League Final v Aughnamullen:

So it is safe  to say now "We are the kingpins of Intermediate football in Monaghan for 2015". Sunday was a day that every person yound and old in Doohamlet has been dreaming off. Conditions were ideal for football. Aughnamullen opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a point form play, they followed this with a point from a free, they registered further points to give them a 4 point advantage. We opened our account with a fine point from Barry Mc Ginn and then in the 22nd minute Jamie Walshe got the well deserved goal for us, this got the confidence up in Doohamlet, it was followed by further points by Barry Mc Ginn and Colin Walshe, we went in at half time 1-4 to 0-5 to the good. We started the second half the way we normally do, registering early points. These points came from the boots of Barry Mc Ginn and Barry Mc Bennett. We created plenty of chances and with some excellent team moves we took control of this game. Colin Walshe got his second point to leave the score 1-10 to 0-8 with 6 minutes left on the clock. We run the clocl down and eventually we heard the final whistle and that feeling is something that we have been waiting a life time on. Massive credit to this team, they are  to our little village, massive credit to the management team who left no stone unturned and also the 16th man the supporters who have to be the best supporters in the county.  Doubles are hard won and no doubt the celebrations will go on for many weeks. Team: James Casey, Gavin King, Marty Hughes, Jason Mc Elroy, Damien Ward, Colin Walshe, kevin Mc Ardle, Ciaran Mc Manus, Johnny Duffy, Jamie Walshe, Naill Connolly, Ollie Hughes, Barry Mc Bennett, Barry Mc Ginn Darren Connolly.

Good Luck to Rockcorry and Scotstown who are playing in the Junior & Senior Ulster Finals this weekend in Armagh.
