FIXTURES.

It's another crowded schedule of championship action this weekend and a situation that was further exacerbated by the fact that there are two replays in the intermediate football championship and the All Ireland senior football championship semi-final replay between Dublin and Mayo has been slotted in for 5.00PM on Saturday evening, impacting even further on the schedule on the club front.

SFC.

The Greenfield Foods sponsored senior football championship is now down to 8 contestants with Donaghmoyne and Inniskeen both out of the series, each having suffered their second defeat last weekend, Donaghmoyne losing out to Castleblayney and Inniskeen losing out to Magheracloone. Four clubs that have already suffered a defeat, Castleblayney, Latton, Magheracloone and Truagh however, have one chance left while on the winners side Ballybay, Clontibret, Monaghan Harps and Scotstown are playing for places in the semi finals this weekend although the losers in those matches still have a second chance in the back door element.

IFC.

Meanwhile in the intermediate football championship it is replays this weekend with Currin meeting Tyholland in Emyvale tomorrow evening Friday, September 4th at 8.00PM and on Sunday Doohamlet and Emyvale are in Scotstown at 1:30 PM for their second meeting in a week.

LEAGUES.

As well as those six championship matches spread over the two competitions there are also a couple of games in each of the intermediate and Junior football leagues this weekend. In the intermediate football league on Sunday Drumhowan are at home against Carrickmacross and Clones travel to Cremartin, both for 12:30 PM starts. Meanwhile in the Junior football league Killeevan are at home against Eire Og on Saturday evening at 6:45 PM while on Sunday Aghabog have home advantage against Rockcorry, that one at 12:30 PM.

GREENFIELD FOODS SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

It really couldn't be more clear-cut in the four games that are taking place in the senior football championship this weekend with four clubs fighting for survival and four fighting for places in the semi finals, although at this stage it looks as if the eventual winners of the title for this year will come out of the two quarter-finals that are being played this weekend. Truagh, Castleblayney, Latton and Magheracloone though would like to think that they will have a say in the ultimate destination of the title all of which should go to make for a very interesting weekend and some very competitive matches.
