U14s

Last Monday our U14 team took on Lisbellaw in the Tri County Hurling League. The lads put their heart and soul into the game and put on their best performance of the year to emerge victorious on a scoreline of 5-9 to 4-4. Captain Declan McNally played a blinder and was ably assisted in defence by Senan O'Brien, Caleb McArdle, Niall Carville and Jack Morris. Lisbellaw led at half time on a scoreline of 2-3 to 1-5  with points from David Irwin, Ciaran Duffy, Joey Hughes, Robbie Hanratty and an excellent goal from Conall McHugh keeping us in the game. In the second half, Mikey Carville and Ryan Buckley took hold in midfield. Hard work in the forwards from David Irwin and goals from Ciaran Duffy and Robbie Hanratty sealed the win. Ryan McKernan, Barry Forde, Aaron Conlon and Jack Madden all played their part in a great win

U16s

Our U16 team also took on Lisbellaw on Tuesday night in the Monaghan U16 Hurling league. Credit must be given to both teams for the way they went about the match on what was an awful night for hurling. Unfortunately Lisbellaw were much the better team on the night and despite brave performances from all of the team, in particular Colin Merrick, Craig Callan, Stephen Irwin, Jack McGurgan and Ciaran Duffy, Blayney suffered a heavy defeat.

Next week attention turns to the Monaghan U16 hurling championship. We play Truagh at home with the date still to be confirmed

Minors

The minor team take on Monaghan Harps in this year's minor Co Final on Sunday. The time of the game is still to be confirmed and up to date details will be posted on our Facebook page during the next few days. Good luck to Paul and the team as they try to bring the minor championship back to Blayney for the first time in a number of years.
