Gerry Reilly Cup comes to a conclusion this weekend

July 23, 2015

5 counties head for Millbrook this weekend.

This year's Gerry Reilly U-16 FT comes to an exciting finale next weekend with all 3 finals taking place.

The Gerry Reilly Cup Final draws this year's tournament to a close on Sunday evening (26 July) and promises to be a fantastic game between the two group leaders, Cavan and Dublin.

Both teams showed great skill and enthusiasm on their paths to the final. Coupled with this, Cavan are defending champions, while Dublin were champions the previous year.

In last year's final, Cavan came out on top over Dublin, which adds more spice to this year's final.

In the 'round robin' we were treated to fantastic football from both counties

The Gerry Reilly Plate Final takes place on Saturday evening (25 July) between the Group runner-ups, Louth and Meath.
Louth had a big win over Westmeath at the weekend and will be all out to win the Plate. Meath have done well having to play with a split squad (2 teams) making up for a late withdrawal in the tournament.

The Gerry Reilly Shield Final takes place on Sunday afternoon (26 July) between Meath and Monaghan (finished 3rd in their groups). Monaghan will be putting up to Meath after their big win over Wicklow at the weekend and will be buoyed up by their Seniors win over Donegal.

Meath will be all out for the double having defeated Monaghan earlier with their split squad
