Toome GFC Notes

July 01, 2015

Cúl Camp: 47 kids registered at Cúl Camp on Monday morning - almost twice last year's number! We welcome the new faces, and hope that everyone enjoys the week.

Seniors: We have drawn Sean McDermotts in the next round of the Junior Championship. This game is provisionally fixed for 6pm on Sunday July 12th in Emyvale.

Minors: Had a good win away to Na Mullaí Sarsfields in Smithborough on Tuesday evening in the first game of the 'Cup' competition - basically the top 4 teams in the league play off on a league basis, with the top 2 advancing to the final, so it was an important win.

Under 12s: Were defeated away to Truagh on Monday evening. We were short a few regulars, but the youngsters continue to improve in a high division.

We want your scrap!: in a couple of weeks, there will be a skip in Toome for scrap metal. If there's something you've been meaning to get rid of, but haven't gotten around to it, we'll come and collect it from you. We want: Old Cars, Old Farm Machinery, Car and Tractor Batteries, Old Engines, Copper Cylinders, Car Radiators etc. Contact Raymond Byrne on 086-3824143 or Enda Quinn 086-1298360.

Community Clean Up: Was a brilliant success last Saturday, as a great turn out of people from every age group arrived to lend a hand. Well done everyone!

Astroturf: The Astroturf remains as busy as ever, Contact Kevin Tibby on 087-6503826 for bookings.

Fixtures: Thursday - Under 16s away to Rockcorry at 7:30pm
Saturday - Under 14s at home v Donaghmoyne at 12:00
Seniors away to Killanny at 5pm on Saturday evening.

Lotto: Numbers drawn - Lucky Dip- 5,16,20,28.  Lucky Dip: Jim McKernan, Annyalla; Kathleen McDonnell, Maghernakill; Barry McArdle, c/o Shoe City.. Next week's jackpot is €2500. Any young player who wishes to sell a few lotto tickets will make some pocket money for themselves in the process - this could turn into a nice little earner over the summer months ahead. Contact Dermot Reavy or your coaches for further details.

Go Games: The Go Games are in Blitz Season, and the youngsters are training away every Friday evening from 6:30pm to 7:30pm (under 6 - under 10). New members are always welcome!
