CLUB SCENE.

Last weekend saw a series of games played in the Junior, intermediate and senior football leagues as well as a number of matches in the reserve competitions.

SFL

In the senior football league Truagh had a point to spare at home against Ballybay, Castleblayney and Donaghmoyne finished all square in Pairc Fontenoy, Magheracloone suffered a two points reverse at the hands of Scotstown in St Mary's Park and |Clontibret collected the points against Latton.

IFL

In the intermediate football league Doohamlet had six points to spare over newly promoted Drumhowan, Corduff ran in five goals in accounting for Tyholland by six points, And Carrickmacross had five points to spare over Clones.

JFL

Meanwhile in the Junior football league Oram held out for a one point victory over Scotstown in a high-scoring affair in Sarsfield Park, that game on Saturday evening last, Killanny had a relatively easy victory over a depleted Killeevan in Pairc Eanna, 10 points the margin in that one, Sean McDermotts pipped Blackhill by the minimum margin in Blackhill, Rockcorry proved too strong for Toome and Aghabog had a comprehensive victory away against Eire Og.

RESERVES.

There was one game played in the reserve championship McKeown Cup last Saturday evening where Monaghan Harps defeated Emyvale to go through to the semi-final. The quarter-final of the Crawley Cup between Eire Og and Truagh took place last night Wednesday and there were also a number of games last night in the reserve football league divisions 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B.

FIXTURES.

With Monaghan involved in the Ulster minor and senior football championship quarter-finals against Cavan this Sunday it is a limited programme on the club scene with fixtures confined to the reserve  Championships, with games in the McKeown Cup, the Crawley Cup and the O'Duffy Cup as well as a couple of games in the reserve football leagues.

O'Duffy Cup. The quarter-final of the O'Duffy Cup between Latton and Magheracloone takes place tomorrow evening Friday, May 22nd in Inniskeen at 8:30 PM. The other three quarter-finals will be played on Saturday evening, all at 7 PM, Monaghan Harps at home to Cremartin, Scotstown away against Truagh and Aughnamullen with home advantage over Emyvale.

CRAWLEY CUP.

In the Crawley Cup Doohamlet are at home against Donaghmoyne, Drumhowan are away at Killanny and Corduff play hosts to Carrickmacross, those three games all at 7.00 PM.

MC KEOWN CUP.

In the McKeown cup there is just one game, the quarter-final meeting of Aghabog and Killeevan in Aghabog on Saturday evening at 7.00 PM.

RFL.

There is one game on Saturday in the reserve football league division 1B, Ballybay at home against Castleblayney at 7.00 PM while in division 3 Clones have home advantage over Toome. There are two games in the reserve football league next Wednesday evening, May 27th, both at 8.00 PM, Blackhill at home against Truagh in division 2B and Killeevan away against Emyvale in division 3.

HURLING.

In the under 12 hurling league Cootehill Celtic had a runaway victory over Clontibret, Knockbridge of Louth had a comfortable victory against Inniskeen in the under 14 hurling league while in the under 16 hurling league Carrickmacross defeated Castleblayney. The final of the minor hurling league between Monaghan Harps and Carrickmacross ended all square, Monaghan Harps 1-10, Carrickmacross 0-13 and that replay goes ahead in Clontibret this Saturday evening at 4:30 PM.

DHL.

In the Development hurling league Clontibret had six points to spare over Carrickmacross and Castleblayney had a seven points winning margin over Truagh.

FIXTURES.

There are three games in the Development hurling league this evening Thursday May 21st all at 8 PM, Monaghan Harps at home to Castleblayney, Carrickmacross are at home to Dungannon Eoghhan Ruadh and Clontibret are away against Truagh.

At minor level the replay of the minor hurling league final between Carrickmacross and Monaghan Harps takes place in Clontibret this Saturday evening at 4:30 PM with extra time allowed for if necessary. Meanwhile in the under 12 hurling league on Monday next, May 25th, all games at 7:30 PM, Monaghan Harps are at home against Truagh, Keady pay a visit to Clontibret, Carrickmacross travel to Castleblayney and Cootehill Celtic have home advantage over Inniskeen. Thursday next May 20th sees the under 14 hurling champions quarter-final between Castleblayney and Inniskeen in Castleblayney at 7:30 PM and Thursday next also sees the return to the senior hurling league with two games down for decision, Castleblayney HC at home to Inniskeen and Carrickmacross HC away against Clontibret.
