Monaghan under-21 manager Finbar Fitzpatrick is delighted to see his side through to the Shamrock football final where they will face Tyrone.
A five-point win over Antrim in the semi-final has seen Monaghan through to the decider and Fitzpatrick feels that the extra competitive game will stand to them later in the year.
"The final certainly will give us a chance to see the lads who are in contention in action and going forward from there we will be looking at deciding on our starting XV for this tournament final against Tyrone," Fitzpatrick told the Northern Standard.
"We will certainly be looking at that over the next week because March 18th isn't that far away and we really do have to see what we have. Having said that we will be approaching the final in a very positive frame of mind but there is a bigger picture there and that's the one we are addressing overall."
