January 27, 2015Allianz National Football League
The Allianz National football league's get underway this weekend with Monaghan travelling to play the newly crowned McKenna Cup Champions Tyrone in their opening encounter. The game is fixed for this Saturday 31st January at Healy Park and throw-in time is 7pm. Tickets €15 (€10 Pre-Purchased) are currently on sale from selected Supervalu or Centra Store's and the usual outlets. Under 16's are free. On behalf of everyone from the Rockcorry GAA club I would like to wish the Monaghan team all the best in their endeavour's competing in Division 1. As the slogan goes…'Be There, All The Way'.
Stewards Wanted
Monaghan's first home game in the Allianz National Football League takes place on Sunday 8th February at St. Mary's Park, Castleblayney at 2pm. I am looking for two / three volunteers to help out with stewarding all home inter-county matches. If you are interested please get in touch with myself as soon as possible.
Championship Draws
The championship draws were made recently and we have been pitted against Scotstown in the First Round of the Junior Football Championship. Date, time and venue to be confirmed.
Reserve Team Management
With our senior team manager in place the club is now seeking expressions of interest for the position of reserve team manager and or selectors. If you would like to be considered or would like more information please contact club chairman Michael Carroll or any committee member as soon as possible.
Parish Concert
Last year's Parish Variety Concert turned out to be wildly successful and undoubtedly was an incredible night's entertainment which we all enjoyed. It was absolutely an amazing evening where we were blown away with some amazing singing, dancing and acting. It is a bit of a no-brainer that arrangements are being made to hold another magical night again this year where we can once again relish and enjoy the fantastic talent that is available within our small Parish. This year's Parish Variety Concert which will take place over the St. Patrick's Day weekend and we want to put on another memorable show so please do not let the side down. The concert is open to everyone and anyone who is willing to take part in the concert so please get in touch.
Under 10 Winter League
An under 10 winter league programme will take place in Ballybay Recreational Centre commencing on Saturday 7th February and continuing every Saturday in February between 9.30 to 1pm. Please contact our youth officer Tracey Rooney or our coaching officer Pascal Smyth if you require any further information or visit our website www.rockcorrygaa.ie.
Registration Night / Juvenile Membership
The club intends holding a Registration night shortly to allow all underage players including under 8's, 10's, 12's, 14's, 16's and 18's to register and pay their club membership. All players and parents will be expected to turn up and indeed any new parents and players are also very welcome to attend. It is important to remember that all juvenile players must be registered to train or play any games to be covered under the GAA insurance scheme. We will also be accepting adult membership on the night and club registrar Pat Brannigan will be present and will gladly accept your annual subscription which is for adults €20 with all juveniles under the age of 18 costing €5 and any student that can provide a valid student card the membership fee is €5.
Club Membership

It is important that ALL players pay their membership as soon as possible otherwise you will not be covered under the GAA insurance scheme. Monaghan Coaching & Games Development
Monaghan Coaching & Games Development will be running a series of coach education courses during February & March. A Foundation Level course will be held on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th March (football), Friday 13th & Saturday 14th March (football & hurling), Friday 20th & Saturday 21st March (football). Times 7pm to 10pm on Friday nights and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday's. Venues to be confirmed and courses cost €30. A level one coaching course will be held on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st February (Child Football) and on Friday 27th, Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March a Youth / Adult Level One courses will take place at a venue to be confirmed. These courses cost €55 each. There will also be a number of workshops that Monaghan Coaching & Games will be running free of charge alongside Ulster GAA staff.
