St Macartan's are Rannafast Cup champions

St Macartan's 'thanked' GAA Director-General Paraic Duffy for going to Australia and not attending the Danske Bank Rannafast Cup Final at the Dub Arena on Friday November 21 when the Monaghan college beat St Mary's Magherafelt to win the cup for the first time in 37 years.

'Paraic mentioned last week that he was going to Australia and I couldn't have been a happier man because any Final he's been at we've always lost, so Paraic if you're watching this, thanks for going to Australia!', said manager Gareth Coyle.

Duffy is with the Ireland International Rules squad and is a former Principal of St Macartan's. His former school hit the Magherafelt net after only 18 seconds and went on to win by 1-11 to 1-6. The goal is on this video..
