Corduff club notes

Intermediate Football Semi-Final.
Last Sunday Clones made the return trip to Corduff for The Monaghan Electrical IFL semi-final.
On what was an ideal day for football and with huge support present for both teams the stage was set for action. Clones were fast out of the traps registering the first score of the match in the 1st minute of play. Despite Clones  dominating the opening encounters it was Corduff that registered the next score which was their first score in the eight minute. In what was a low scoring first half Corduff went in with 2 points to spare at the interval on a score line of Corduff 0-5, Clones 0-3.

The home side dominated the first 12 minutes after the restart scoring 4 points the last of which came in the 12th minute which was to be their last score of the match. Clones staged a comeback in the last quarter. However solid defending from Corduff was instrumental in preventing  Clones going ahead. Hence the winning momentum continued and by the final whistle Corduff were victorious by the narrowest of margins on a score line of 0-9 to 0-8 booking that coveted spot in the League final against  neighbours Donaghmoyne. Congratulations to Management and players on keeping the dream of reaching the league final alive and good luck in the final. This local derby which promises to be a tight encounter throws in this Sunday at 2:30 in Aughnamullen. Once again we call on all Corduff Gaels supporters to come out on Sunday and support the team and management. Nothing beats being there and your support counts!
