MC GUIGAN BUILDERS INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINALS.
While the final of the Junior football championship takes centre stage on Sunday this weekend also sees the two semi-finals of the McGuigan Builders sponsored intermediate football championship which are being played as a double bill in Castleblayney on Saturday afternoon. The Corduff versus Inniskeen south Monaghan derby throws in at 1:30pm while the meeting of Donaghmoyne and Rockcorry gets under way at 3.00pm. The final of the intermediate football championship is fixed for Sunday, October 12th at a venue yet to be confirmed.

CORDUFF V INNISKEEN.
A South Monaghan pairing that will, no doubt, produce a feisty contest between these near neighbours and keen rivals and one where it is expected that there will be very little to separate the sides at the finish.

DONAGHMOYNE V ROCKCORRY.
While Donaghmoyne may be regarded as favourites going into this contest and would have been rated as one of the favourites for the intermediate championship title even before a ball was kicked, their opponents on Saturday, Rockcorry, have been one of the talking points of this year's intermediate championship as they put in a number of fine, battling performances that saw them defy the odds on more than one occasion.

Blackhill v Drumhowan: Inniskeen: Sunday September 28th @ 4.00pm.
The final of the Junior football championship takes place in Inniskeen on Sunday with a starting time of 4.00pm with the meeting of Blackhill and Drumhowan. Blackhill are looking for their fifth title, they last won the Junior football championship in 1952 and they also won the title in 1932, 1943 and 1950. They also contested the final in 2004 when they lost to Cremartin. Drumhowan on the other hand have a much more recent history of success at this level in that they last won the Junior football championship just two years ago in 2012. On Sunday afternoon they will be looking for their sixth Junior football championship title as they also won the Junior championship in 1960, 1991, 2006 and 2008, giving them the edge in experience in that quite a few of the players from the 2012 team in particular are still involved.
