Toome GFC Notes

September 23, 2014

Toome GFC Development Fund GRAND DRAW: Toome GFC are delighted to announce that we are currently selling tickets for our Grand Draw! The money is intended to assist in the Development and running of the club. First Prize is a very attractive €5000, which would be a very welcome windfall for any of us! Tickets cost €20 each, or 3 for €50. We need the help of everybody in the area, and ticket sellers are the key to the draw's success. We urge people to put in a 'big push' as other clubs have reaped the rewards of enthusiastic sales.
Senior Team: Another week passes, and another hard fought draw in the league against championship finalists is the end result. While the Drumhowan game was a ding dong battle, this was very much a game of 2 halves. At one stage in the first half Blackhill were 13 points ahead, and optimism was in very short supply.

Well Lazarus was a great man for a comeback, but even he would concede that Toome's second half turnaround was even more improbable. Admittedly, Blackhill may have had one eye on this weekend's Junior Final, but a massive effort went in from every man on the field, and Liam McCooey's equalising point was a just reward at the end. Full Time: Blackhill 3-08 Toome 2-11.

We welcome Aughnamullen to Toome on Saturday 4th October at 5pm.

Under 16s: The under 16 final v Patrick Emmets is confirmed for this Sunday at 1pm in Drumhowan. This team have done it the hard way up to now, having had to beat Blayney to book a semi final place, before a memorable victory away to favourites Clones in the semi final. The lads deserve a massive support on the day, for what should be an exciting encounter between 2 good teams. Best of luck to Management and Players!

AstroTurf: For bookings on our 3G all-weather facility contact Louis @ 087-6503826.

Lotto: No winner of the jackpot this week, numbers: 1, 11, 11, 26. Lucky Dip: Stephen Lambe, Annalitten; Raymond Byrne, Tullynacrunnet; Eugene McMahon, Corrygarry, Tony Carville, Dundalk Road; PJ McDonnell Dublin. Annual lotto subscriptions are now due, Pete Donaghy, Dermot Reavy or any committee member will be only too glad to take your money! €100 is the annual charge.
