Championship action again dominates the club scene in Monaghan this weekend with the two final qualifier games in the McGuigan Builders intermediate football championship, the first of the semi finals in the Gormley UPVC senior football championship between Scotstown and Castleblayney in Clones at 4.00pm and the much anticipated quarter final replay between Ballybay and Truagh to see which of them goes through to the semi final against Clontibret and who goes out. As well as that championship action there are also games in the Junior football league and last night, Wednesday, saw the final of the under 21 football league division 2 between Donaghmoyne and Killeevan which Donaghmoyne won by 1-14, to 1-5.
MC GUIGAN BUILDERS INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
There are two games in the McGuigan Builders intermediate football championship this weekend, both sudden-death play-offs in the qualifier end of the competition where the winners will be in the semi finals and the losers between Clones and Corduff and the game between Cremartin and Rockcorry will see their interest in this year's competition come to an end. Both games are being staged on Saturday evening, but not as a double bill, the Clones v Corduff game takes place in Scotstown with a 5:30pm start while the game between Cremartin and Rockcorry is fixed for Drumhowan with a 6.00pm start and as qualifier games, extra time will apply in the event of the sides finishing level at the end of normal time.
