Doohamlet club notes
August 19, 2014We played Magheracloone on wednesday eve last. Magheracloone built up a substantial lead in the first quarter of the first half but Doohamlet finished the half strongly with us scoring 6 points in the last 7 minutes of the first half. The second half was going to be a massive task but one of the boys answered it well. Two second half goals and a hand full of points by Barry Mc Ginn narrowed the gap further but it was too little too late as we just couldnt get our hands on the ball in the dying minutes, Magheracloone ran out winners on a score line of 2-14 to 1-19. Doohamlet v Clontibret.
On Sunday we played Clontibret who got on the scoreboard quickly scoring 2-4 inside the first 12 minutes but Doohamlet weathered the storm scoring 0-5 to 2-4 at half time. The second half was tough throughout, we had a strong breeze but just couldnt get it counting on the scoreboard. It finished 0-10 to 4-9. U16,s play to Tyholland tonite (thurs) at 7.15pm.
We wish Colin Walshe a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in his club and county jersey in the near future.
