Monaghan's week has gone from bad to worse with confirmation that All-Star defender Colin Walshe has torn a cruciate ligament injury.

The Doohamlet ace damaged his left knee when he fell awkwardly 20 minutes into last Saturday's heavy All-Ireland SFC quarter-final defeat at the hands of Dublin but he played the remainder of the game.

He now faces anything between six and nine months on the sideline and is almost certainly to miss the early stages of the Farney County's 2015 FL Division 1 campaign. Tweet
