Senior Team - The Senior team got there opening points of the Senior League last Wednesday evening in a very entertaining match against Latton, in front of a large crowd, at home in is St. Marys Park. A couple of early points by Dermot Malone and David Mc Mahon helped settle the Faughs and after the opening twenty minutes they lead by four points to no score, but a strong Latton response saw them regain control to draw the game before half time. The second half saw the continuation of some excellent defending by both sides and with 10 minutes to go, the game remained a draw before Keith Hill followed by fellow substitute Mark Hanratty opened up a two point margin, which the Faugh never looked like giving up. Further points by Hanratty, Hill and Fergal Malone saw the Faughs run out worthy winners. The young Faughs team showed right from the off that they were determined to get a win, with some really free flowing football being displayed. The boys got on top early on and a couple of Robbie Hanratty goals set the team up for a comprehensive win. Best on the day for the Faughs were Craig Callan, Stephen Beattie and Robbie Hanratty. The lad's next fixture is an away trip to Sean Mc Dermott's on Saturday 3rd of May at 12 o clock.

Under 14 Girls - The U14 girls were defeated by Aughnamullen last Thursday evening. The girls were slow to start and conceded a few very early goals. As the first half progressed the girls then settled, playing some great football and scoring some fine points along the way. The second half saw the girls display the renowned faughs "never say die" spirit and commitment, producing some excellent football at times. These girls continue to improve with every game they play, and in only their second competitive season continue to progress, playing in a higher division. We await confirmation of the next Fixture for the U14 team.

Under 8 and Under 10 - The last of our Juvenile teams got into action last Saturday morning, when Monaghan Harps held the first of this year's Go Games .With a huge number of players, the wee Faughs travelled with great excitement as Saturday was the first time that many would put on the the Famous Green and Gold Jersey. The Boys and Girls were a credit to both their parents and the Clubs with all teams performing very well against Carrickmacross, Latton , Monaghan Harps and Cremartin in the matches . What was very pleasing from a Club perspective was the large number of parents who attended the matches. Well done to everyone.

Juvenile Training - There will be no Under 6 and Under 8 this Thursday night, both will return on Thursday 1st of May.

Best of Luck - The Club would like to wish the County Senior Team all the best this week in the Division two final in Croke Park. The Club will be represented by Club Captain Dermot Malone and School Coach Marty McElroy. Hopefully they can continue to take more Silverware back to the County.
