GAA set to hold managerial meetings

October 03, 2008
The GAA is to hold meetings in all four provinces with intercounty managers ahead of the commencement of the new 2008/09 hurling and football seasons. And, in addition to the county bosses, it is also understood that members of the National Referees' Committee and an intercounty referee will be in attendance. Reports suggest that plans are afoot for one manager from each province to be nominated as a provincial representative. The GAA hopes the meetings - to discuss matters of mutual concern such as matchday regulations - will ensure that there will be no repeat of the managerial revolt which happened on the eve of the 2007 season when county bosses opposed sideline and other matchday regulations.
