Minor Championship: Our Minors played Donaghmoyne in the quarterfinals of the Championship on Tuesday last where they now have advanced to the semi-final stages. The game was tight and close, particularly the first half, were Scotstown had a slender lead of 5pts to 4 by the 25th minute. Then a Shane Carey goal a minute later, followed by two quick points left them ahead by 1-7 to 5. In the second half, points from Aaron Mc Carey and a Damien Mc Ardle point kept Scotstown at bay. With 9mins remaining Scotstown got a 2nd goal from Conor Caulfield, to put the tie beyond Donaghmoyne. However, the away team never gave up and Scotstowns goalie, Sean Gilheaney made two great saves in the closing five minutes. In the end our minors progress on a final score of 2-12 to 7. Scorers: Aaron Mc Carey (0-8), Conor Caulfield (1-1), Shane Carey (1-0), Kieran Hughes (0-1), Adrian Carbin (0-1), Damien McArdle (0-1).
