Following their win over Carlow champions Bennekerry/Tinryland the previous weekend the Meath girls we well prepared for the semi final. Conditions were wet, making play extremely difficult, the Athboy girls were 1st to take on the Dromard goalkeeper who made a fine save. This homeside got the n point for the 1st score of the game. Orla McLoughlin levelled the game with a point in the 7th minute settling the visitors.

Orlagh Lally scored their 2nd point putting the visitors ahead for the 1st time. Dromard showed why they are county champions by playing the ball down the field and scoring their 2nd point to level the game.

Clann na ngael went back up the field and a one two with  Vivenne McCormack and Blathnaid Keogh ended with McCormack blasting the ball to the Dromard net for the 1st goal of the game.

Clann Na nGaels 3rd point came from a pass played in by Louise O'Connor to the full forward line, Cailin Mc Donagh managed to keep the ball from going over the end line and duly putting it over the bar.  The home side battled hard but were out played by the excellent work of the back line of Aine Keogh, Ruth Sherlock, Niamh Collins, Helena Garry & Caitlin Hamilton.  Minutes before the half time whistle Clann Na nGael were awarded a penalty for a foul on Aine Keogh. Captain Louise O'Connor stepped up and scored the 2nd goal of the game. Points from Vivenne Mc Cormack, Orla Mc Loughlin & Blathnaid Keogh saw the Clann Na nGael girls ahead by 11 points at half time.

Changes made at half time saw Rianna Kelly replace Aine Castles in the half back line. Louise O'Connor scored her 1st point of the game, a point from Vivenne McCormack and a point fisted over the bar by Blathnaid Keogh settled the girls into the 2nd half.

The Dromard girls never gave up showing great spirit which was rewarded by a goal and a point in quick succession. Laura Gilsenan hit back with a point for the winners before Dromard got their second goal from the penalty spot but it was a little too late as the Clann Na nGael girls pushed on under extreme pressure with points from Orlagh Lally, Louise O'Connor & Blathnaid Keogh.
