Dunderry's Damien 'Swiss' Clarke is one of the most well-known players in Meath and his young son has been diagnosed with a very rare brain tumour.

The people of Dunderry and Rath Cairn are working together to support the Clarke family in what is an extremely difficult situation and they are asking for support from the wider GAA family.

Statement from Dunderry GAA

One of our clubs most well-known dual stars, Damien "Swiss" Clarke needs our support. Swiss has been a wonderful servant to Dunderry all his life, in both football and hurling. He has represented Meath at minor, U21 and senior level.  Swiss and his wife Eadaoin's son Naoise has recently been diagnosed with a very rare brain tumour. Because of these circumstances, currently, Swiss and Eadaoin are unable to work so that they can provide the best possible care for Naoise in his own home and so that they can enjoy every moment with him and his big sister, Muireann.

In order to support Naoise and his family, members of the Dunderry/ Rath Cairn community have established a "Support for Naoise Fund". To help raise money for this fund, the committee will be holding a 5km family fun run in Dunderry at 3pm and an evening event in the Rath Cairn Hall at 8pm, all on 23^rd September.

In advance of this we are also organising a draw for 4 All Ireland tickets for this weekend's All Ireland Football Final. The four tickets are seated together. The draw will take place in Kilmacud GAA grounds, at the Kilmacud Sevens, this Saturday (16^th of September) at 7 p.m. This is a limited draw, with just 200 tickets, and each ticket costs €50.

All proceeds from this draw will go directly to the Support for Naoise fund. A sincere thank you to the Kilmacud Crokes club for allowing us the platform to raise much needed funds at their annual event.
