After the break St Marys had new hope with the aid of a strong wind started brightly and registered three points early on, two from 45s and another from play. Kilbrides defence were excellent and was the platform for all that was good on the night. A McMullen point settled the nerves and It was that man again who got it back to 10 between the teams with another score. St Marys were not done and they kept pressing but with Dean Stapelton Dave Barron and Jack Donnelly in fine for St Marys were struggling to get scores.
At the other end a point from a very hard working Farrell put kilbride back on track. Kilbride were rocked after a kicked that hung in the breeze allow St Marys in for a goal. This seem to spur on the Kilbrides lads and if not for the posts Kilbride should have had two goals of there own and another fine block from St Marys full back denied Craig Sheridan registering a green flag. Excellents scores from Cathal McKeon, the excellent Brian White and another from Farrell saw the finish line in sight. Sub Jeff Sheridan finished off the scoring on the night with a fine effort. Kilbride deserved this victory and the score board doesnt reflect there performance.
They were excellent in defence when only conceeding 1-2 from play..With pace through out the team they caused St Marys defence alot of problems..Dean Stapelton Jack Donnelly and the returning Finbar Clarke were immense in defence. In midfield they had a good balance. Up front they have alot of scoring forwards. Donnelly, McMullen, Farrell and Brian White were excellent on the night. Cathal mcKeon worked and carried the ball extremely well...This was an excellent result and sets the lads up nicely to progress to the knock out stages of the championship.
