Castletown's Tommy Smith

Castletown 2-14 Nobber 0-17

The home side did what they had to do to try and avoid the relegation dog fight with this three points victory against local rivals Nobber.

This result looked in doubt when after five minutes of the second half Nobber were in the ascendancy by 6 points and had the advantage of a very strong wind behind them playing  towards the road goals. The visitors scored the first two points of the game before on 8 minutes Tommy Smith opened  Castletown's account. Smith chipped in with the second point of his 1-7 total on 12 mins with his brothers Kenny on 18, Barry on 21 and Tommy again with 30+5 minutes on the clock of the opening period to leave it Castletown 0-6 to Nobbers 0-7.

Nobber started the second half on the front foot and on 35 minutes had scored five points in a row to lead by six and the wind to their advantage. Declan Cribbin then started the eventual winners revival on 38 minutes, Barry Smith on 39 and Declan Cribbin against pointing on 41 minutes leaving three between the sides. Nobber increased their lead to four points on 43 minutes before a minute later Barry Smith converted a penalty with Kenny Smith's point on 46 levelling the match.

Nobber regained the lead a minute later but  Tommy Smith's point left it all square again. Nobber again went a point up but man of the match Tommy Smith scored 1-3 in four minutes to leave Castletown leading by four points with 57 minutes on the clock. Nobber scored two more points to one from Barry Smith to leave the home side winning 2-14 to Nobber 0-17 when referee Seamus O Connor blew the full time whistle.
