JFC B: Farnham hits 1-4 as Gaeil Colmcille 2nds get off to a flier

Gaeil Colmcille 4-16 St. Peter's, Dunboyne 0-12

Gaeil Colmcille's second string and Dunboyne's third string team's met in Dunsany for their Junior B match on a glorious summers evening.

Kells raced into a 0-05 to 0-1 lead after 12 minute with some nice scores.  On the 15th minute Ryan Farnham, goal scoring hero from the senior championship win over Wolfe Tones, was the right man in the right place again finishing off a great move placing the ball in the bottom corner.  That put 6 points between the sides but Dunboyne tagged on a couple of scores before the break leaving it 1-09 to 0-08 at half time.

In the opening five minutes of the second half Gaeil Colmcille registered 2-01 with the goals coming from Barry Farrelly and veteran Gary Arkins putting some daylight between the sides. Cormac Mattimoe came on for Aaron Browne and within two minutes he had 1-01 to his name from practically his first two touches. With the game getting away from Dunboyne, Kells emptied their bench and closed out the match.

Overall on the night Gaeil Colmcille had 10 different scorers, 4-14 from play and a great start to the Junior B Championship. They sit on top of Group B alongside Na Fianna who recorded a 12 point win over Donaghmore/Ashbourne.
