Sam Benville Donaghmore Ashbourne

Donaghmore/ Ashbourne 1-14 Nobber 2-11

Donaghmore/Ashbourne and Nobber shared the spoils in this lively encounter at Duleek on Saturday evening. Playing with the wind advantage the south Meath side opened up a seven point to no score lead before Nobber replied with two points and then capitalised on a Don/Ash mistake for a goal to bring them back into the game. Don /Ash finished the half strongly with two more points and a goal from the penalty spot by Matty Devine following a foul on James Crumlish to lead at the interval by 1-9 to 1-2.

Nobber piled on the pressure after the interval and a second goal mid way through the half left them only three points behind and with further points they moved a point ahead with only a few minutes to go. Don/Ash centre back Colm O'Mealoid then went on a surging run which might have yielded a match winning goal, however he was pulled down and Stephen Carton pointed the resulting free to salvage a draw.
