April 25, 2017

Dunsany's Cathal Murphy in a race for possession with Kilmainhamwood's Jude Collins

Dunsany 2-27 Kilmainhamwood 1-3

On a bright spring evening Dunsany put in a scintillating performance filled with skill and deadly finishing to comfortably defeat the visitors from north Meath.

Dunsany were quick off the mark and never looked back. Eoin Marsh and Keelan McNamara dominated midfield from the start. On the rare occasions where they did breach midfield the home sides defence stood firm and repelled the 'Wood's attack.

Going forward Dunsany cut open the Kilmainhamwood defence on numerous occasions, only for some superb reflex saves from the 'keeper kept the goal tally low.

The homeside kept the pressure on and kept kocking over points to keep the scoreboard ticking. Midway through the half Cathal Murphy finally breached the visitors defence for a well taken goal. Pierre Fox also landed an impressive 45. At the break it was Dunsany 1-16 Kilmainhamwood 0-0.

Dunsany continued the 2nd half in the same vain. Keeping the scoreboard moving at will. Kilmainhamwood got off the mark midway through the half. Eoin Marsh added a goal on a deep run from midfield after some good play from Malcolm Doyle.

Kilmainhamwood got their goal from a penalty after a rare error from the Dunsany keeper Niall Flynn. Dunsany saw the game out with minimal fuss after this.
