FL Div 3: Bective no match for Trim

April 23, 2017

Bective's Marty Mulhall

Trim 1-16, Bective 0-9

Trim held the upper hand through-out this game played in Trim under lights.

They made their intentions clear from the throw-in with blistering runs carrying the ball through the Bective defence and had 5 points on the board before Bective scored their first point via Marty Mulhall.  Bective, although compromised by missing a number of key injured players, did not fold however and continued to play attacking football under intense tackling from an uncompromising Trim outfit. Trim added a goal and went in 1-9 to 5 points at half time.

Bective continued to scrap hard for possession in the second half with renewed vigour with the introduction of John Moran at midfield, Gary Brennan at corner back and the evergreen Shane Breslin in the goals.  However Trim still controlled the game with winning many of the kick outs and never giving up possession easily.  Bective found it difficult in finding scoring opportunities and only added another 4 points to their tally whilst Trim added 7 points. Bective introduced Neil Dowdall into the forwards and he showed his class with some fine moves that resulted in scores.

Although well beaten on the night this was an experience of intense and fast paced football for Bective players and will help prepare them for the challenges of the Intermediate grade in the coming months.

Bective: Ronan Murtagh, Ben Malone, Jack Grant, Cillian Reilly, Colm Barry, Jarlath Brennan, Colin o'Rourke, Ciaran Reilly, Ciaran Breslin, Paul Mc Cabe, Mark o'Brien, Cathal Mc Connell, Michael Lyness, Brian Cantwell, Marty Mulhall.
