U17 FL: Kilbride impressive against Simonstown

Kilbride 7-20 Simonstown Gaels 1-10

Kilbride U17s showed that the football manufacturing line is very healthy in the club with this very impressive win against Simonstown Gaels.

Kilbride started well taking a 6 points to 2 lead with some excellent points from Adam Malone, James Gavin, Jamie McWeeney and Finn Hughes.

The Gaels tried to keep in touch but the Kilbride lads were clinical and a 1-8 to 0-4 with further scores from Zack McGovern Cadhla Mckenna and Mark Dempsey.

Simonstown then lost their disipline somewhat and in a 10 minutes spell had 2 players sent off in separate incidents.

Kilbride finished out to half 2 more points from Jack Sweeney-Leahy and McWeeney.

The second half was mostly one way traffic with Kilbride having the numerical advantage they took some outstanding scores from distance. Simonstown did not give up though and notched up 1-6 in this period under difficult circumstances. But with the Kilbride defence of Sheehy, Duffy, Harford, O'Leary, Dignam on top and Keenan rarley troubled in goals they ran out easy winners in the end.
