Further strong tests from the Ultans attack sent over another 4 points to leave the visiting side with the edge at half time Oldcastle 1-3, St Ultans 0-9

Oldcastle emerged the sharper side as the second half went on and eventually led by a point when Healy knocked over a 21 yard free to give the home side the lead. For Oldcastle the turning point of the match was the terrific solo effort of Robert Packenham on the 40th minute when he rattled home the St Ultans net in impressive style.
