Cilles to be without Reilly as appeal fails

October 21, 2016

Referee David Coldrick issues a red card to St Colmcilles Graham Reilly during the opening minutes of the Meath IFC final at Pairc Tailteann.

St Colmcilles will be without the services of county man Graham Reilly for Saturday's IFC final replay after their appeal against his red card in the drawn game was turned down.

The midfeilder was shown a straight red card by referee David Coldrick three minutes into last Sunday's final against Dunderry.

Reilly and his club launched an appeal to the automatic suspension but this was turned down by Meath County Committee disciplinary committee late on Thursday night.

St Colmcilles were notified of the decision with formal paperwork set to be delivered to them this morning.

The option still exists for St Colmcilles to go to Leinster Council with an appeal but with the replay taking place on Saturday at 3.45pm in Pairc Tailteann, time pressure will be a problem.
