FL Div 4: Good team performance from St Vincents

St. Vincent's Ardcath displayed a good team performance in their most recent League Division 4 game with Ballivor GFC. St Vincent's made a great start and appeared the fitter of the two teams on what was a fine summers evening. Ballivor demonstrated their physical presence and were not shy in the tackle from the start.

St. Vincent's opened the scoring in the second minute when Ritchie O Sullivan slotted over a point and the lead was doubled soon after as Ritchie added another point. The Ardcath boys followed with three more score from play in the fourth, fifth and seventh minutes. These point came from Robbie Lynch, Niall Tallon and Ritchie O Sullivan. Niall score was taken with the left boot which by all accounts does not happen too often. 

Ballivor landed their first point in the eighth minute followed by another eight minutes later. These points were well cancelled out with some excellent scores from St. Vincent's. The first coming from Maurice Carberry after some great play. Martin Fox was on the end of a well worked move and scored a nice point while Ritchie O Sullivan added his fourth soon after from a free kick. St. Vincents were now well on top and playing with vigor all over the pitch. Andrew McEntee was helping out from a half back position with a point from play. Robbie Lynch and Bob Tallon added two more points before Ballivor added their third point of the match.

The first half finished St Vincents: 0-11(11) Ballivor: 0-3(3)

Ballivor opened the second half with a point from play. St Vincent's had three wides'' before Ballivor scored another point from a free kick. Bob Tallon opened the second half scoring for St Vincents with Ballivor adding two points from free kicks shortly after. In between these frees' Robbie Lynch score a point from play. Ritchie O Sullivan slotted over two more points before Robbie Lynch scored his third point of the game. Ballivor add two more points with one coming from play and the other from a free kick. Robbie Lynch closed the game out for St. Vincents with his fourth point of the game.  Ballivor had a better second half but could not make up the difference resulting in a well-deserved win for St Vincent's

Next up for St Vincent's is a B League game away to Ballivor on June 1st 2016 @ 7.45pm 

This is followed by a home game against Kilmainham Wood in the quarter final of the Tailteann Cup on Saturday June 4th in Bellewstown starting a 7pm.
