Summerhill 2-16 Na Fianna 0-15

Summerhill were deserved winners of this keenly contested game played in Baconstown.

Davy Dalton netted for the visitors in the opening half as the sides went in level at the break 1-7 to 0-10. After well taken goal from Barry Dardis early in the second half, set up by Brian Ennis, Summerhill never looked as though they would be beaten.

AFL Div 1; Na Fianna Suffer Defeat to Summerhill

Na Fianna suffered a home defeat to Summerhill on Tuesday in Baconstown with a strong second half from the visitors sealing the win.

Summerhill started the game the stronger with a flurry of points and a goal. However, a late first hall surge led by the outstanding Jamie Queeney got Na Fianna on level terms at half time (0-10 to 1-07).

Queeney hit three great points from play, while Daniel Queeney hit four including two good placed balls. Harry Silke fired over from the right wing while Brian Queeney was on target with two points.

However the visitors dominated the second half with resistance coming from more points by Jamie & Daniel Queeney, a fine effort from
Micky Collins and a late Ollie Leeis point.

It was not enough as Summerhill were convincing winners with Na Fianna having good performances from Jamie Queeney, Shane Geraghty, Anthony Neary, Daniel Queeney, Harry Silke and Ollie Lewis.
