Not a bad week for a small club

Moynalty's James Cassidy was one of the stars for the Meath minors in that memorable win over Dublin in Pairc Tailteann.

The victory of Moynalty versus Slane in Slane on Saturday evening in Division 4 A League capped a wonderful week for the Moynalty Club.

The Club's top Minor James Cassidy with his two comarades from the Moynalty/Carnaross Minor team Cian O' Reilly, who's Granny was a sister of the famous Matt Gilsenan, and Frank O'Reilly played a big part in the 10pts defeat of Dublin in the Leinster Minor Championship game in Navan on Saturday. Jonathan Lynch was also on the panel of the Meath Junior team on Wednesday evening. The Two Adult teams in the A and B Leagues are at the top of the table in their respective divisions, and the U16 team qualified for the Final of their division with the U12's in the Semi-Final. Not a bad week for a Small Club. 

In the Slane Game Moynalty went into an early lead with Paul Lynch scoring 1-02, Christy Cahill 1-01, Ollie Sheridan, Carl Lynch and Anthony Nevin a point each to lead by 2-06, to 0-06 at half time. The Second Half points from Adrian Maguire 0-02, Donal Lynch 0-02, Stephen Blackburn, Christy Cahill, Anthony Nevin, Cathal Reilly, Pauric O' Connor & Michael Cahill 0-01 each brought their score to 2-16/ Slane scored two late goals added to their 0-03 points scored in the second half to increase their tally to 2-09, but the game was never in doubt. Final Score Moynalty 2-16, Slane 2-09.
