Dee Rangers celebrate with their many fans at Paddy O'Brien Park

A little bit of history was created at Paddy O'Brien Park last Saturday. More than 1,000 supporters turned out to witness three great ladies football championship finals. Oldcastle and St Ultans will have to do it all over again in the senior decider. Intermediate winners Dee Rangers won their second championship in as many years while senior league winners Dunboyne claimed the junior title.

From a great days action at Paddy O'Brien Park we pick our standout players:

1 Karen Cadden (Oldcastle)
Conceded no goals against a much vaunted Ultans attack. Her kick outs were crucial and the number 1 even found time to carry the ball to midfield in the second half as the fightback began.

2 Sinead Carolan (Dee Rangers)
Excellent in her defensive duties. Surged forward at every opportunity and gave Dee Rangers a great platform for many attacks in the intermediate decider.

3 Orlaith Duff (Dee Rangers)
Probably the most accomplished display over the three finals. Broke St Michaels hearts time and again. Always first to the ball, the team captain led by example and picked up the intermediate player of the match award.

4 Mary Coyne (St Ultans)
Started with number 6 on her back but covered every position in defence. The team captain broke up numerous Oldcastle attacks and was a real rock in the second half as the pressure began to tell.

5 Shauna Bennett (St Ultans)
Brilliant in defence and exceptional going forward. The wheels came off the St Ultans bandwagon when the former Meath captain picked up that yellow card.

6 Elaine Doyle (Dunboyne)
A rock in the middle of the Dunboyne defence. Very clever in possession and made some timely interceptions, especially in the second half, as Clann Na nGael applied the pressure.

7 Nadine Wade (Oldcastle)
Her brace of points in the second half were crucial as Oldcastle fought back to earn that memorable draw at Paddy O'Brien Park.

8 Leslie Buchanan (St Ultans)
Covered every inch of the O'Mahonys pitch for her club's cause. A great first half and was one of the few Ultans players that stood out in the second period as Oldcastle dominated. Sent over one of the scores of the game with ten minutes remaining.

9 Sinead McCormack (St Michaels)
In the running for player of the match in the intermediate decider. Outstanding in the middle of the park and top scored with seven points.

10 Aoife Minogue (Clann Na nGael)
One of the few bright sparks on a disappointing afternoon for the Athboy girls. A real threat to Dunboyne for the hour. Finished with a goal and a point.

11 Aoife Conlon (Dee Rangers)
Listed in the subs but started and gave a brilliant display for the 2014 junior champions. Sent over five points from play, four in the second half when 'Rangers' really needed scores.

12 Seona Lynch (St Michaels)
The youngest player on Paddy O'Brien Park for the afternoon. Ran herself into the ground for the Michaels cause. Her carrying ability gave Dee Rangers numerous anxious moments. Scored a fine point and is a real star for the future.

13 Fiona O'Neill (Dunboyne)
The prolific corner forward hit two goals and four points as Dunboyne eased to the junior title. 2-2 came in the first half to open up a gap that Clann Na nGael never closed.

14 Vikki Wall (Dunboyne)
Clann Na nGael could not cope with the strong running of the full forward. Reverted to midfield early in the second half. The Meath minor star ended up with a goal and three points and had a hand in a lot of Dunboyne's scores.

15 Rebecca Goodwin (Dee Rangers)
Was Player of the Match in the 2014 junior championship final and her display against St Michaels was not too far off from repeating the same feat. The corner forward's goals, three in total, came at crucial stages as Dee Rangers moved up to the senior ranks.
