Moynalvey were at home against their neighbouring Summerhill on Tuesday the 25th after a day of showers. The both teams had lost their last match in the Coca-Cola Intermediate Championship. The ground was wet however both teams came out storming.

Niamh Crowe of Summerhill was the first scorer with 2 points, and later with a goal after two points from Moynalvey. Jenny Rispin in her blue and yellow jersey scored a goal at 25 minutes, and Niamh Crowe streaked again with another goal following a pass from Jenny Rispin. Moynalvey scored their third point at 29 minutes. The first half ended 3.3 to 3 points in Summerhill's favour.

Moynalvey came out firing, with a point. However Olivia Comey of Summerhill hit the net at 6 minutes. Julianne Scanlon pointed shortly afterwards, and the next score was at 11 minutes for the home team. Jenny Rispin and Julianne Scanlon both put another point each on the tally. Moynalvey came back into the game with a goal but Summerhill's Kate Flynn scored a point, and Crowe a goal. Moynalvey were determined to come out on an up and at 28 minutes, the wet and heavy ball was driven past Summerhill's keeper.

The match ended as the mist was falling and even though Summerhill came out on top, it was a battle considering the weather conditions. One notable player to acknowledge was Kate Flynn, as of her sheer determinedness to get Summerhill over the line.
