Coca-Cola Club Championship - Round Seven Results

Senior Championship

The rain which had fallen for most of Tuesday abated by 7pm when Boardsmill and Seneschalstown went head to head in Bective. Boardsmill were 1-09 to 0-03 to the good at half time with the goal coming from the boot of Maire Hegarty. Both sides upped a gear in the second half but it was the team in blue and white that finished the stronger, Laura Dempsey contributing seven points to the winner's tally. Both sides were then anxiously awaiting the full time whistle in Cortown to discover their semi-final opponents.

The Oldcastle senior squad

In the second game of the evening and with a commanding display, Oldcastle overcame St. Ultans to finish top of the Coca-Cola Senior Club Championship table in Cortown, recording a 3-11 to 0-03 victory. A tough opening period had the north Meath side leading by 1-06 to 0-02 at half time. Dee Rangers made it seven wins from seven outings when they accounted for Donaghmore-Ashbourne on Monday evening. Four points from Kelly Farrelly in the opening half, as well as a tough defensive display meant the away side led to a 0-08 to 1-01 lead at the break. A Rebecca Goodwin goal early in the second half spurred on last year's Junior A Champions and they ran out convincing winners on a 1-15 to 1-04 scoreline.

The Dee Rangers squad

On Sunday evening, St. Michaels had a facile win over Ratoath to ensure second place on the Intermediate table while Royal Gaels and Summerhill finished level on points on the table after both had wins in the final round.
