Gaeil Colmcille recorded a fine win over joint table toppers Donaghmore Ashbourne in this round 7 B football league clash at Ashbourne.

The Kells men got off to a flyer and a brace of goals from Shane Freeman gave the Gaeils a 2-3 to 0-3 half time lead. Donaghmore Ashbourne did close the gap in the second half but a well worked goal finished by Barry Farrelly gave Gaeil Colmcille a much needed win.

Best for the winners were Evan Sheridan, Shane Freeman, Cormac O'Reilly, Liam Byrne and Jordan Muldoon.
