Trim defeated Ratoath in this highly entertaining and close fought Under 14 Hurling League 'A' decider at Pairc Tailteann. In doing so they brought home the Ted Murtagh Cup.

Trim 2-10 Ratoath 1-9

Ratoath were first on the scoreboard with a Fionn Murphy point. But Trim, fresh from their Feile exploits, got a dream start when James Murray crashed the ball to the Ratoath net. Mikey Cole and Murray added points and Trim were 4 up inside ten minutes. Ratoath battled back and were rewarded with three unanswered scores through the brilliant Jason Farrell (2) and Murphy. Cole put the lead back out to four with three points from frees but Farrell with his 3rd  left a goal between the sides at the break. Trim 1-5 Ratoath 0-5.

The gap was still at three points 1-7 to 0-7 after ten minutes of the second half but a goal from Cathal Sherlock tied up proceedings. This sprung Trim back in to action. Ian Bermingham sent over a long distance free and Mikey Cole was on hand to finish to the Ratoath net to open up that four point gap once more 2-8 to 1-7 with ten minutes remaining. Ratoath never gave up. They were rewarded with points from Farrell and Aidan McLarnon but a brace from Trim substitute Andrew Gibney made sure that the Ted Murtagh Cup was heading back to the town.

After the game Juvenile Board Secretary Ciaran Flynn along with Shannon Holland Murtagh, grand daughter of Ted, presented the Ted Murtagh Cup to Trim captain Dylan Farrell
