June 24, 2015

Na Fianna's Marie Healy Cole gains possession

Na Fianna 2-05
Navan O'Mahonys 3-04

Navan O'Mahonys started the game brightly putting constant pressure on Na Fianna. Credit is due to the Na Fianna backs and particularly Niamh Geraghty in goals for keeping Navan at bay. Great work from Niamh Kirby helped Captain Deirdre Flynn register Na Fianna's first score. Niamh Kirby pointed for Na Fianna after a great run from Marie Healy.

Navan were the first to register a score in the second half. They followed this up with a third goal in the fifth minute. However this was to be their last score of the game. Claire Coffey took off from centre back and scored a vital point. Deirdre Flynn hit the net after a long ball in from Katie Queeney. Andrea Colgan and Deirdre Flynn popped over 2 more points before Niamh Kirby found the back of the net after great work from Claire Coffey. In the dying minutes Katie Mulvihill was unlucky when a shot at goal hit the post.

Na Fianna will take a lot from this game. A strong second half performance showed their strength and determination. Best for Na Fianna were Katie Queeney, Claire Coffey, Niamh Geraghty and Niamh Kirby.
