Wilkinstown NS recently enjoyed double success in both the Cumann na mBunscol Division 4 hurling and the Navan Area Football Shield.

Wilkinstown Win in Trim
On Saturday the 13th of June Wilkinstown set out for revenge on Robinstown in the Cumann na mBunscol Division 4 hurling final. The match began at 3:15 in St. Lomans Park Trim. The teams were neck and neck all the way to half-time. The score was 1-2 to 1-1, Robinstown were ahead. Thomas Donegan and Kyle Moran both scored for Wilkinstown in the first half and Tara Smith and Cormac Heffernan scored for Robinstown. Wilkinstown were the quickest out of the traps for the second half with two fine goals from Dominick Curran and one from Kyle Moran.
Victory was looking good for Wilkinstown. Robinstown took a few chances but Wilkinstown's defence was rock solid and the game finished 4-2 to 2-3. It was Wilkinstown's first time to win in the Cumann na mBunscoil hurling title. Hard luck to Robinstown who played a great game but well done to Wilkinstown on a well-deserved win.

Wilkinstown Victorious in Navan
Scoil Naomh Barra, Wilkinstown gained redemption for their defeat in the final of the Cumann na mBunscol by winning the Navan Area Shield in Pairc Tailteann on Friday 19th of June against St. Paul's, Navan. It was the first time the competition was held. There was a great atmosphere in Pairc Tailteann. Wilkinstown got off to a flying start with some great link up play by Eoghan Moore, Evan Corrigan and James Carroll leading to some early scores. Goals from Sean Penny, Evan Corrigan and Kyle Moran soon followed. Some amazing fielding by Evan Corrigan put a lot of pressure on the St. Paul's kickouts. St. Paul's responded with a few well worked points before half-time. Wilkinstown were leading by 13 points at the interval.
After half-time Wilkinstown continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over with goals from the forwards. Wilkinstown attacked down the left flank and Evan Corrigan scored a magnificent left footed point from a very tight angle on the left hand sideline. Shortly afterwards a Wilkinstown sideline ball was collected by Eoghan Moore and he ran on to score a super goal. St. Paul's attacked well and got a goal for their efforts. Some great defence by Eoin Donegan, Thomas Donegan and Nicky Henry prevented further St. Paul's scores. A free kick for Wilkinstown on the St. Paul's 45 metre line was kicked cross-field into the path of Sean Penny who brilliantly slotted it past the St. Paul's goalkeeper into the net. A few minutes later the referee blew the full-time whistle to the delight of the Wilkinstown players, management and supporters. Eoghan Moore and Evan Corrigan lifted the Navan Area Shield for the first time.
