Holders Nobber advanced to the final of this year's competition with this victory over a fancied Ratoath side on Wednesday evening.

Nobber can attribute this victory to their dogged determination to suceed aligned to some very shrewd subsitutions and positional switches by the mentors.

Nobber were first out of the blocks with Fiachra McEntee and Dale Larkin pointing in the first two minutes.

Ratoath responded immediatley and scored 1 04 before a Dale Larkin pointed 45 for Nobber in the 16 th minute. Ratoath again struck for another in the 18 th minute to see them lead 1-5 to Nobbers 3 points.

Then came the score which ultimately changed the course of the match Niall Farrell latched onto to the ball 25 metres out and using all the skills of a premier league star dribbled his way in to find the net with a unstoppable shot.

Further points from Niall Fiachra McEntee Brian Farrell and Gerard Campbell saw Nobber into a 1-7 to 1-5 at the break.

Whatever chance Ratoath had of snuffing out the holders chances evaporated in the 31 st and 32 nd minute when first Dale Larkin was upended in the square and Brian Farrell neatley tucked away the resulant penalty.

Nobber again stuck 1 minute later when Brian Farrell again found the net after some very clever approach play.

Nobber were very much in the ascendency and with further points Brian 3 Jamie Owens 2 Sean Meade and Alan Farrell Nobbers victory was never in doubt.

Ratoath tried very hard to get back on terms a cause which was not helped by a missed penaty and a wonderful save from Brian Meade.

Even though Ratoath scored 8 points in this period they could not match Nobbers fire power with all of their forwards getting on the scoreboard.
