Meath recorded a comprehensive win over Carlow in the quarter final of the Leinster Junior Football Championship at Sean Eiffe Park Ratoath.

Carlow enjoyed a fair share of possession in the opening ten minutes and recorded two wides before Meath got of the mark when Ciaran Lynch sent over a free. Ciaran Kelly doubled Meath's advantage before the lively Kevin Ross got in for the games first goal. Carlow eventually got on the scoreboard when Chris Blake sent over after 15 minutes. Lee Walker added another to their tally before the home side got in for goal number two courtesy of Lynch. Danny Quinn added a point and Meath were 2-5 to 0-2 up after twenty minutes. Carlow then enjoyed there best patch in this game and added three points without reply through James Ryan, Blake and Niall Quinlan. But Meath hit back and finished out the half with a flurry of scores. Points from Bobby O'Brien, Daragh McNamara, Alan Farrell, Kevin Ross and Cian O'Brien along with a Ciaran Kelly goal gave the Royals a 3-10 to 0-6 interval lead.
Lynch, Ross and Quinn increased Meath's lead in the opening ten minutes of the second half. Simon Doyle replied for Carlow before Kelly put a seal on victory with his second and Meath's fourth goal. Substitutes Jimmy Finnerty (2), Stepehn Crosby and William Carry raised white flags as Meath ran out comfortable winners.
Sean Barry's side now face Louth in the Leinster Junior Football semi final.
