Blackhall Gaels 1-12
Duleek/Bellewstown 3-8
The Blackhall boys traveled to Duleek to take on the locals in the 6th round of the A League last Wednesday.
The Blackhall side lined out welcoming back a few friendly faces ready to get into the action. However, the home side pressed their advantage well in the first half and went in 2-3 to 4 points at the half. The Blackhall men were not far behind the Bellewstown boys only for the ten wides they had in the first half the game would have been different! After the restart Blackhall got three unanswered scores closing the gap to two. Disaster struck again however, when Duleek got their second penalty of the day, as well as two points.
The gap was back to seven. Blackhall kept their heads up and came back to slot over three quick points. The teams went tit-for-tat after that with no scores for almost ten minutes when Dermot Carty found the back of the Duleek net! Blackhall unfortunately failed to score after that and went how with no points. The final score Duleek/Belloewstown 3-, Blackhall Gaels 1-12. A brilliant comeback, the lads kept the home side quiet in the second half. The A League takes a break now for the Gaels until the 30th of May, but both the Junior and the Senior championships will keep the lads busy.
