Na Fianna overcame the strong challenge of Ballivor on Sunday in Longwood. Central to the win was the impressive Sean Griffin who claimed 2-03 while Paul Kennedy hit a crucial late goal.
Na Fianna led by 1-04 to 1-01 at half time. Ballivor came out strongest after the half time break and helped by an early goal they managed to take the lead only to be pegged back by Sean Griffins second goal. Paul Kennedy's good finish late on put an end to the Ballivor challenge as Na Fianna got their campaign off to a good start.
Lee Hyland impressed with two points from wing back, while Evan Henrick, Ciaran Gilna, Robert White, Tommy Cosgrave and man of the match Sean Griffin also excelled.
