Louth, Longford and Meath are safely through to the quarter-finals of the Leinster MFC.

In Drogheda, Louth caused a minor surprise when coming from behind to beat Kildare by 2-14 to 2-11. The visitors, who have appeared in the last two Leinster finals, led by 2-7 to 0-10 after 43 minutes, but the Wee County hit back with goals from Tadhg McEneaney and Adam O'Connor to take the spoils.

Longford came away from Blessington with a 1-14 to 1-8 victory over Wicklow. The midlanders led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time and were out of sight when Rory Hawkins goaled four minutes after the restart to extend their lead to 1-8 to 0-4.

Meanwhile, Meath led from pillar to post as they accounted for Laois by 1-17 to 2-8 in Navan. The Royals led by 0-6 to 0-0 at the end of the opening quarter and by 1-9 to 0-3 at the break. The goal came in the 27th minute when Ross Ryan's shot took a deflection and looped into the net.

Meath remained in complete control until they conceded two goals in the final eight minutes - the first of which was scored by Sean Moore.

Louth, Longford and Meath join Dublin, Wexford and Carlow in the quarter-finals, which are due to be played on May 16. Kildare, Wicklow, Laois, Offaly and Westmeath will have another chance in the qualifiers, which are scheduled for April 29 and May 6.
