In what for the most part was a free flowing Minor Football game with no sign of a blanket defence about these two teams clocked up 35 scores over the 60 minutes.

North Meath started best with Cathal Bennett and Daniel Byrne (2) popping over early points as St Cuthberts found getting out of the starting traps a little arduous, but soon they found their feet and pointed and then found the net with a fine move which saw Christian Byrne beating Dominic Yorke from close range.

The game continued in a similar vein with both teams having periods of dominance but St Cuthberts took their chances better as their goalie Liam Carey pulled off a fine save from Ryan Gillispie as the home side led 1-9 to 0-8 at the break.

A goal 4 minutes into the 2nd half gave St Cuthberts a great start as a point attempt hit the post and Christopher Rennicks reacted quickest to fire to the net.

North Meath were always playing catch up after that and when Carey made another fantastic save from Paul Carolan with 15 minutes to go it was clear that it was not going to be North Meath's night.

Dominic Yorke did fire over a well struck 45 into the wind to give the visitors some hope as Daniel Byrne hit 4 second half frees as the St Cuthberts defense reverted to fouling as Byrne, Ryan Carry and James Mooney continued to run at them.

St Cuthberts were doing well at the other end and hit some fine points to take a 9 point lead but they were rocked with 2 late sending off's as Noth Meath hit the last 4 points of the game but could not find the goal that was needed to get them close.

James Mooney had a fine game for North Meath and got good support from Cathal Dunne, Ryan Carry and Daniel Byrne.
