Camogie: Meath open league campaign against Kilkenny

February 20, 2015

Meath put up a good performance against Kilkenny in the championship last year in Rathmolyon.

Meath will begin their National Camogie League Division 2 campaign this Sunday with a trip to Thomastown to take on Kilkenny.

Meath are in Group two that also includes Waterford, Tipperary, Down and Cork. Kilkenny reached both senior and intermediate camogie championship finals last year losing both. On their way to that intermediate decider they accounted for Meath at Rathmolyon.

Meath manager John Davis has brought on board Graham Dillon as coach. Dillon was at the helm of the Kilkenny senior team alongside Niall Williams for 2013 and 2014 guiding them to Leinster and National League titles, while they reached the All-Ireland senior final on both occasions losing out to Galway and Cork respectively.

The former Westmeath footballer played for Davis' native club Brownstown before returning to his home club Trinity Gaels a few years back and the dual player brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
